Hello!

As you can see, I’ve not posted much for a long while now. Well, that’s because there’s not much to write about. There have been no new games in my life, and the content for Gears of War 3 that has come out has only been out a few days, and I’ve not played it that much.

Pretty slack from someone who claims to review/discuss these things, right?

Anyway, I’ve got a few games on Pre-Order at the moment, so there will definitely be an article (or two) about SSX and Mass Effect 3 when they come out – so there will still be a reason to come here.

Speaking of Mass Effect 3 – there’s a Demo slated for a February launch on the Marketplace. Definitely a download in my eyes, particularly because its been a while since I’ve touched a decent RPG (what with me not jumping onboard the Skyrim bandwagon).

What else is there? Hmm… Not a huge amount really – I may post a brief bit about the new Gears of War 3 content next week. So until then, here is a quick summary:

Not to disrespect what Epic have done in regards to Gears of War 3’s DLC legacy, but this pack – known as Fenix Rising -  is (in my eyes) the weakest so far. You get 4 new Character Skins (two of which look almost identical to other skins in the game). You also get 5 New Maps. Credit where credit it due, the maps aren’t too shabby at first glance – however I’ll need to play them more to get a better impression.

I guess the real bonus behind Fenix Rising is the ability to Re-Up. This feature lets you reset your rank so that you can progress all the way up to 100 again. You get a Weapon Skin for doing this, and a different coloured level indicator. It’s pretty much what Call of Duty has for its “Prestige” mode, so it’s not exactly revolutionary, however the lure of levelling up again should rekindle the love of this game amongst many.

Anyway, I’m off for now. Thanks for reading and I’ll be back again soon.
